Rethinking Guardianship

Our initiative aims to inform future policies and procedures for adult guardianship to better meet the needs of all of North Carolina’s vulnerable adults.

Money Follows the Person

Money Follows the Person (MFP) is a state project that helps NC Medicaid-eligible North Carolinians living in inpatient facilities move into their own homes and communities with supports.

Division of Aging

The Division of Aging works to promote the independence and enhance the dignity of North Carolina’s older adults, persons with disabilities and their families through a community based system of opportunities, services, benefits and protections.

CIDD

The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) is a comprehensive center providing multidisciplinary clinical services, conducting basic to applied research, conducting clinical and research training and engaging in advocacy, all with the goal of improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout North Carolina and across the country.

DSS Adult Services

DSS Adult Services supports older adults through Adult Placement Services, Adult Protective Services, Counseling through Departments of Social Services, and Guardianship Services.

SEADA

As the Southeast ADA Center Affiliate for the state of North Carolina, Cares serves as a conduit of information, education, and technical guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other disability rights laws.
