Program Evaluation
As part of the University of North Carolina, Cares is certified in and committed to ethical practices in research and evaluation.
Systematic Review of Research and Best Practices
Our work begins with summarizing existing knowledge as a basis for planning and program development. This includes identifying and recommending evidence-based and evidence-informed best practices.
Examples
Development of Evaluation Processes
Cares works in partnerships with organizations and communities to identify shared measurements, outcomes, and indicators; establish benchmarks; and conduct formative (process) and summative (impact) reviews.
Examples
Data Collection and Analysis
Capacity Building and Education are most effective when they are data driven. Cares’ work includes data collection and analysis in order to inform planning and decision making in policy and program delivery. Our data sources include established data sets such as administrative and secondary data, as well as data collected through stories, interviews, surveys, focus groups, and listening sessions.
Examples
Instrument Development and Deployment
In cases where adequate, timely, and appropriate data are needed, Cares will create instruments, tools, and procedures to capture meaningful, actionable data.
